Who am I?
From my earliest memories, I knew that something was different. I felt out of place and didn’t fit the societal stereotype I was expected to. By the age of twenty, I began my transition to a transgender woman. My transition has been a personal journey of struggle, growth and politics. From accessing life-saving treatment to trying to avoid abuse due to my identity, my life has been impacted by the current political environment surrounding the transgender community. My lived experiences as a trans woman, along with my deep interest in politics, have inspired me to investigate the policy decisions, laws and statements that impact trans people across the world.
My previous articles have been published in student newspapers, community papers and national print. I have been on various news programmes from the BBC to STV talking about the current campaign for trans equality.
This page is a chance for me to utilise my love of writing to showcase the politics of the trans equality campaign. Join me as I interview trans activists, investigate political decisions and showcase the decisions that impact trans lives.
